Croatia for Kids

About Croatia for Kids

Croatia for Kids started with a worry many diaspora parents know well: that the next generation, growing up far from Croatia, slowly loses the language. We make books for families abroad who want their children to know where they come from — the language, the places, the food, the traditions, and the love of baka and djed.

We could not find the book we wanted — something a child could hold and color, that also helped them hear correct Croatian, not just see it. So we made it. Each book is a screen-free gift children can hold, color, and keep, and this website adds the part a printed page cannot: pronunciation audio and printable pages from each book, reached by a simple QR code — so even if your own Croatian is rusty, your child still hears it said the right way.

The series follows Luka & Ana through Croatia — from A to Ž journeys and first words to holidays, food, and the Adriatic sea. It is a small family project, made with care.

One honest note: we use AI tools to help with parts of the illustration, translation, and the pronunciation audio on this site, and every book and page is reviewed by a human so the Croatian your child hears is correct and kind.
